Financial Aid

Hilltop strives to provide financial assistance to as many families as possible. Available financial assistance is determined during the annual budgeting process.

DSHS Child Care Subsidies

Hilltop is eligible to receive DSHS child care subsidies. However, because the reimbursement rate from the State of Washington is only 50-60% of our tuition, we limit the number of spots available for children receiving this subsidy. For more information on receiving a DSHS subsidy, please go to the Division of Child Care and Early Learning website. Please contact Hilltop at 283-3100 or by email to find out if there are any available openings for children receiving DSHS subsidy.

City of Seattle Comprehensive Child Care Program

The City of Seattle offers child care assistance for families whose income is too high for DSHS, but are still in need of financial assistance. We recommend that families check out this program at their website as many families qualify. At this time, Hilltop is able to serve all children who are receiving assistance from the City of Seattle.

Siri Mayo Scholarship Fund

This fund was founded in 2006 in memory of Siri Mayo, a former Hilltop student who passed away in 2005 of cancer. This fund provides financial assistance for families to attend Hilltop. The plan is to grow this fund each year, so that more funds will be available in future years. The amount of funding available for each year is determined in the spring. For more information or an application, contact Hilltop at 283-3100 or via email.

Myrna Canon Scholarship Fund

This fund was founded in 2003 in honor of the 25th anniversary of teacher Myrna Canon. Myrna began teaching at Hilltop in 1981, and continues to teach in the Rainbow Room. Myrna is now having the children of her former students in her classroom. The Myrna Canon Fund provides one-time financial assistance, up to $500/year, for families who are struggling to pay their tuition. For more information or an application, contact Hilltop at 283-3100 or via email.
